We’re proud and pleased Australia’s Disability Discrimination Commissioner Alastair McEwin has been confirmed as the fourth invited speaker for A11y Camp 2018.
While Commissioner McEwin’s educational background is in arts, law and business administration, he also brings a wealth of personal and professional experience with disability. He has been the Executive Director of Community Legal Centres NSW, CEO of People with Disability Australia and Manager of the Australian Centre for Disability Law.
Commissioner McEwin appeared on the panel Inclusion Riders: People with Disability and Technology at the Human Rights and Technology conference in Sydney on 24 July, just a week after releasing the report A Future Without Violence: Quality, safeguarding and oversight to prevent and address violence against people with disability in institutional settings.
We are extremely gratified that someone as busy and committed to improving the lives of people with disability as Commissioner McEwin has made the time to deliver the fourth keynote address at A11y Camp 2018.
