Digital Ableism: Real, Uncontrolled & Easy to Fix
11:30am Friday 15 November (Stream One)
We’ve come a long way in the past 25 years with regards to digital equality for people with disabilities …
But we have a long way to go when it comes to being inclusive and it’s time we, the disabled community, start pointing fingers and getting things fixed.
Now, more than ever, it is up to us to stand up and be counted. For if we aren’t heard, others will continue to just assume they know what is best for us.
I have been public speaking almost all my life and have a true passion for digital accessibility for all disabled people.
I helped spearhead the push to get Audio Description into Australian cinemas inn 2008 and have spoken to high school and TAFE students for the past three years about making the world a more inclusive place for people with all forms of disability.
