One of our wonderful event sponsors, Intopia, is co-hosting an event in Sydney on Monday 15 October featuring two of our A11y Camp 2018 keynote speakers.
Together with the Sydney Web Accessibility and Inclusive Design Meetup, Intopia is hosting a panel discussion titled Legislation, Policy and Practice for Digital Inclusion as part of International Digital Inclusion Week, run here by the Australian Digital Inclusion Alliance.
On the panel will be US disability rights lawyer Lainey Feingold and Australia’s Disability Discrimination Commissioner Alastair McEwin – both keynote speakers at A11y Camp – and Rosemary Kayess, Interim Director of the UNSW Sydney’s Disability Innovation Institute and recently elected to the United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
This is a rare opportunity to get real insight into the impact of digital accessibility on the rights of people with disability. The event is free, wheelchair accessible, with live captioning and Auslan interpreting, and is sponsored by Telstra, UNSW Sydney, the University of Sydney and Intopia.
